X Pine Canyon

This is a great tributary of West Clear Creek.  It is unnamed on maps but has been dubbed X Pine Canyon because it features two trees halfway thru the canyon that form an X high above the creek.  The road leading to the drop in point of X Pine Canyon is horrendous the last time I was here.  There is nothing particularly challenging about this route except for the hike out which is typical for a trail of West Clear Creek.  The fun factor to work ratio is high in this slot canyon, including a great patio near West Clear Creek that features a nice big pool and a great place to jump from.  For those of you who do not want to wreck your car, just a few extra miles of walking could save you a few hundred in car repairs and you will probably make similar time versus driving down this rocky and rutted road.
