This is the first creek adventure that we had on the big island of Hawaii. In retrospect it was quite the pathetic and lame adventure but we had to start somewhere, and this was it. Though it probably doesn’t warrant its own description, the photos are here in case anyone is interested in this route, which has incredibly easy access ad is the closest route on this section in proximity to Hilo. This canyon features one rappel, about 25 feet, which is a nice one at the very least. From here you can almost see the highway, though it really doesn’t take away from the beauty of it. You are still highly likely to have this place to yourself since it is not often visited for some odd reason. Enjoy!
