Apache Trail Canyon

apache trail canyon

Apache Trail Canyon is an under appreciated route in my opinion.  For the amount of effort you put into it, this canyon has some great scenery especially if its got a little bit of flow to it.  The drop in takes about 10 minutes and the hike back up to the road takes less than half an hour.  The technical difficulty is easy and features one primary drop which is the first.  There is a second drop that can be downclimbed given there is water in the canyon.  I have only done this route once, and it full of water, making it a great time.  I can imagine in the heat of summer this would be a not so pleasant experience so pick the time you do this canyon wisely.  All in all, this is a very nice easy, introductory route to the sport of canyoneering; and even for the experienced adventurer, Apache Trail Canyon is still a fun, exciting adventure.
